3 Reasons to hire a personal stylist

Interested in hiring a personal stylist but not sure if it’s right for you? Here are three common reasons people seek out a stylist and how you stand to benefit when you do…

01 You Lack A Style Identity

You've got a big closet. You probably even like most things in it. Sure, there's a percentage that crosses into, “take it or leave it” territory, but mostly your clothes cover the gamut of current trendy things, sentimental/heirloom things, some things you're still figuring out how to style, some things you're planning on fitting into one day, and the ol’ stand-by's, the things you end up wearing all the time despite setting out to opt for something different today….again…

There's not much that feels interchangeable within the layers of your wardrobe and that makes your vast collection actually feel extremely limited. How could you have all these options and nothing to wear??? You worry you'll get rid of something you might eventually want and you have lots of goals for your style without any action or intention.

Your closet is giving: “WHO IS SHE???”

02 Your Image Is Affecting Your Confidence

There is nothing worse than leaving the house only to feel a wave of insecurity wash over you upon having you first human interaction of the day. And all because of your outfit. Ugh. You catch your reflection and it looks nothing like what you signed off on at home. (How could I have worn this???)

A coworker’s sincere compliment somehow skips over making you feel good and only steers you right into anticipating the moment you can race home and back into your sweats. You purposely choose outfits you can “hide” in and the only time you’re comfortable with the way you look in your clothes is when you don’t have to look at them at all…because you’re looking at the back of your eyelids, asleep, in your dang pajamas! (Which btw you think are ugly/need an update too, but whatever, it’s just pajamas right?

You never used to be like this…

03 Your Life No Longer Matches Your Wardrobe

Getting dressed has never been an issue. But you’ve entered a new season of life and suddenly there’s this big foreign wardrobe you weren’t planning on having and you’re beginning to seriously wonder how much longer it’s going to hold you over. Maybe it’s motherhood and acquainting yourself with your new postpartum body. Maybe it’s an exciting promotion that you worked really hard to land but hadn’t thought about how you’d need to level up your image. Maybe you’re traveling more and never quite nail your packing list. (…err what packing list?)

Maybe you’re feeling more mature, more successful, more free, more fun, more beautiful. And your wardrobe is just not keeping up. All of these are calls to ation and it can be extremely impactful to fortify your wardrobe and go boldly into your new era rather than cobbling together the few items you have that sorta’ still apply.

You deserve it.

Hiring a personal stylist isn’t anything like those old episodes of What Not To Wear on TLC. There are no wrong answers. You’re allowed to have big feelings that aren’t just about the clothes, and I certainly will not be appearing from behind a mannequin to pop-quiz-shame-your-ass on any independant choices you make.

As a stylist I’m here to help you realize your goals, dial in your aesthetic proclivities and show you how to bring them to fruition. Simple as that. The rest, that happens organically, and is what gets people gushing about the wins of the process, are totally unique to you and not something you can fully glean until you put in the work. If you want to upend the woes in your wardrobe that are bumming you out/holding you back/bringing you down —Do it!

I’d love to be an accomplice.
